Tim takes small to medium-sized non-profit organizations to the next level – helping them improve performance, strengthen programming, increase fundraising, and build sustainability – all with a goal of going from surviving to thriving. His 25 years of hands-on experience helps small to medium-sized non-profits achieve higher success through innovation, evaluation, strategic planning, and implementation of strategies to achieve key outcomes.
Non-profit focus. Results-driven success. Tim’s 25 years of leadership experience has grown non-profit programs and expanded organizational capacity throughout his professional career. He has conceptualized, developed, and implemented mission-aligned, relevant programming, demonstrating evidence-based impact for multiple organizations – creating national models recognized for collaboration and serving the most vulnerable populations. Through his career he has raised over $25 million dollars in grant funds, doubled agency budgets in three years, doubled agency endowments in three years, and has never had to end a program due to lack of funding.
As CEO of Compeer International, Tim oversaw an organization of over 50 affiliates throughout the United States, Canada, Australia, and the UK – serving over 3,000 clients in a one-to-one mentoring model to achieve mental wellness. Through his leadership, Tim expanded programming to local schools, secured long-term reliable funding, and identified key board members to help drive the mission of the organization. In 2018, he secured a $1.8 million dollar, 3-year OJJDP grant to expand youth programming in 12 cities throughout the US serving over 1,000 more youth. This grant was only awarded to nine organizations in the entire country. He also secured additional funding to provide Mental Health First Aid training in Western New York – establishing Compeer as the largest training agency in the area. Tim managed the purchase and move of the agency headquarters into a new 8,400 square foot building – the first time the agency resided in a building that it owned. Ever the visionary, Tim also guided the rebranding of the organization that drove an increase in the number of clients served, volunteer engagement and satisfaction to record levels. At Cradle Beach, Tim secured numerous awards for the agency and grew the agency from 11 full-time employees to 40 full-time and over 100+ seasonal staff. He provided direct oversight of core programs that grew the number of youth served from 800 to 1,200 annually. Through visionary leadership, he expanded the agency from being solely a summer program to a year-round program serving 240 students in six Buffalo schools daily. He facilitated the work of volunteers, doubled organizational annual funding, and oversaw the agency branding. He conceptualized, initiated, and directed a $4.5M capital campaign that funded critical repairs to 20 buildings and the construction of 3 new buildings. Tim is a graduate of the Harvard Business Institute for Non-Profit Excellence, the University and Buffalo Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership, the Health Fellows Leadership program and received an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from SUNY-Buffalo State College. He resides in Buffalo, NY.
